Educational Qualification
Teacher Eligibility Test – Maharashtra (MAHA-TET) Levels as Follows:
A. Paper – I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I-V (Primary Level).
B. Paper -II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI-VIII (Upper Primary Level).
The following persons shall be eligible for appearing in the TET:
i. A person who has acquired the academic and professional qualifications specified in Government of Maharashtra Resolution.
ii. A person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the appropriate authority, as the case may be) specified in the Government of Maharashtra Resolution.
Note:- 55% of the students belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Vimukta Jatis / Nomadic Tribes, Special Backward Classes, Other Backward Classes and Disabled candidates will be considered as having passed at least 60% marks in this examination.
MAHA TET Validity
- The Government of Maharashtra will conduct a TET at least once every year.
- The Validity Period of TET qualifying certificate is 7 years for all categories form the date of award of certificate.
- There will be no restriction on the number of attempts a person can take for acquiring a TET Certificate.
- A person who has qualified TET may also appear again for improving his/ her score
