The Gruha Lakshmi program’s online application process opened on Thursday, June 16, just hours after Laxmi Hebbalkar, the minister for advancing women and children, stated that qualified women heads of households could begin submitting their applications on Friday. The government expects that up to 1.3 crore, eligible people will apply for the Rs 2,000 per month plan, with the application procedure taking 4–7 minutes. Therefore, besides Karnataka, Grama, and Bengaluru sites, the government included Bapuji Seva Kendras and Nadakacheri as additional application submission locations.
They are also creating a new application, which should be ready in the next few days, to carry out the program logically. Women who pay income tax (IT) or pay GST returns are not eligible, and neither is a woman’s spouse. The woman’s eligibility for the program will be fine if her children file tax returns or GST returns. Applications may be submitted at any time. The mobile number, bank account details, and Aadhaar cards of both the woman and her husband or parent are essential documentation for the applicant.

The Congress manifesto-related programs Gruha Jyothi, Gruha Lakshmi, Anna Bhagya, Uchita Prayana, and Yuva Nidhi were authorized by the Siddaramaiah Cabinet. The State Cabinet decided on Friday to put all five of the pre-election “guarantees” into effect in this fiscal year, starting with the launch of the Shakti program, which would provide free travel for women on August 17 or 18. The Congress government came under pressure from the opposition parties to carry out its guarantees on May 19, the day Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and nine other cabinet members, including the Deputy Chief Minister, took the oath of office.
